Our Philosophy Statement

San Xavier Mission School embraces a spiritual and academic growth mindset in order to reach the fullest potential of the teacher and learner. We believe that Catholic education is the responsibility and partnership between the home, school and parish community working together to support high expectations within a respectful, Christ-like environment.

We believe that God is the center of who we are and what we do in our lives-past, present and future. Jesus Christ’s teachings are the foundation of our parish and school community. We live out the Catholic faith through our actions, words, and interactions with others.

We believe in the preservation of the Tohono O’odham Himdag (Way of Life), traditions and language as they are rooted in the virtues of temperance: respect and dignity for self and others; prudence: responsibility in making good choices in life and respect for the natural environment; and fortitude: courage to learn from our mistakes in order to grow in mind, body and spirit.
